Lafarge Surma awards top retailers in Sylhet

The country's leading cement manufacturer Lafarge Surma Cement Limited has awarded 40 top retailers of Sylhet region at a Halkhata programme recently, said a press release.
Lafarge awarded the retailers for their sales performances. Local distributor Mr Munayem Khan Babul presided over the programme.
Mr Masud Khan, Finance Director, Mr Kazi Khalid Mahmood, Commercial Director, and Mr. Gopal C Ghosh, Finance Controller of Lafarge Surma Cement, were present at the programme.
Halkhata, which means to open a new book of accounts closing the old one, has been a tradition since the times of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The traders and businessmen invite customers to share sweets and renew their business deals during Halkhata.
