Lafarge Surma holds seminar

Lafarge Surma Cement Limited organised a technical seminar on "knowing Supercrete better" at a local hotel in Sylhet recently.
Senior officials of the company discussed the good practices in civil construction in the country. They highlighted the competitive advantage of Supercrete cement produced by the company.
Around 300 engineers from different organisations including the high officials of Roads and Highways Department, Public Works Department, Local Government and Engineering Department and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology attended the session.
Bangladesh's leading cement manufacturer Lafarge Surma has its plant at Chhatak in Sunamganj which is the only dry process fully integrated cement plant in the country. With limestone being brought from its captive mine in Meghalaya, India by a 17-kilometre overland long belt conveyor, it has been producing Supercrete brand of cement. Supercrete is tested in modern lab equipped with sophisticated equipment.
All data are stored automatically on line in central data base without any chance of human error. This ensures the reliability of the information. The quality control procedure adopted is equivalent to any international standard and is a rare instance in cement industry in Bangladesh, the company said in a press release.
