Friday, 10 October 2014
Two siblings were stabbed to death by their rivals for land in Nandail Upazila in Mymensingh district on Friday. The victims were identified as Tofazzal Hossain, 50, and his brother Swapan Mia, 35, sons of Sharafat Ali of Rajabaria village. Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Nandail Police Station, said the two brothers had been at loggerheads with some local people over the possession of a piece of land. As a sequel to the hostility, a gang of local miscreants, led by their rival rivals, swooped on the house of Tofazzal and Swapan around 5:00am and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving Tofazzal dead on the spot and Swapan injured. Swapan died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
