Land port at Mujibnagar to attract tourists demanded

MUJIBNAGAR, Meherpur, Dec 11 (BSS): Inhabitants of Mujibnagar of Meherpur have demanded setting up of a land port at this western frontier town to attract foreign tourists to the historic site having crucial links to the creation of independent Bangladesh in 1971.
"We the inhabitants of Mujibnagar are carrying out a campaign for construction of a land port here since 1981 . . . we now urge the government to take effective and immediate steps in this connection," Chairman of Bagoan Union Parishad told the news agency.
