Land Service Week in Gopalganj, Gaibandha to promote e-mutation

GOPALGANJ, Apr 10: A weeklong Land Service Week began in the district on Wednesday.
In this connection, Deputy Commissioner of the district Mohammad Mukhlesur Rahman Sarker inaugurated a land development tax fair on the premises of the district Shilpakala Academy as the chief guest.
Gopalganj district administration and Sadar upazila land office organised the event jointly.
A total of 12 stalls have been set up in the fair.
ADC (Revenue) Shammi Akter and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Sadikur Rahman Khan were present on the occasion, among others.
Meanwhile, BSS adds: In Gaibandha, Land Service Week and Land Development Tax Fair-2019 began in the district today with an aim to enhance land management skills, efficiency and make people aware on their land rights.
Marking the week, the district administration chalked out elaborate programmes with the theme "Rakhbo Nishkontok Jomi-Bari, Korbo Sobay e-Namjari' (Our land and home will remain be protected, we will do e-mutation).
In the morning, a rally led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) M Abdul Matin was brought out from the district collectorate office premises and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.
Later, a discussion meeting was held there with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) M Tofayel Hossain in the chair. DC M Abdul Matin addressed the meeting as the chief guest while civil surgeon Dr ABM Abu Hanif, Additional Police Superintendent Rahaat Gowhary and general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League (district unit) Abu Bakar Siddique were present as the special guests.
The speakers underscored the need for ensuring land service standard and security through the full implementation of automation and digitalisation process in land management considering the interest of the people.
The chief guest said land dispute cases are often creating barriers in the way of providing land-related services to the people.
