Landport at Chilahati demanded

NILPHAMARI, Dec 14: Speakers at a seminar organised by the NGO "Sushasoner Jonno Prochar Ovijan" here recently urged the government to implement their demands including immediate establishment of Chilahati Land Port in Domar Upzila in Nilphamari district, gas supply in greater Rangpur and Dinajpur.
Local MP Asaduzzaman Noor, Nilphamari Pourosobha Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed, Nilphamari Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Abdul Wahed Sarkar and upzila chairmans including Domar Upazila Chairman Abdur Razzak Bosunia spoke at the seminer.
Convener of Chilahati Land Port Implementation Committee Abu Musa Mahmudul Haque presided over the seminar.
They also urged the government to build infrastructure facilities at Chilahati railway station.
The speakers further demanded the re-opening of custom and immigration facilities at Chilahati and re-opening of Chilahati Holdibari (India) rail route.
