Lanka beat Bangladesh by two runs

CHITTAGONG, Feb 12 (Agencies): Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by two runs in the first Twenty20 international in ChittagongĀ  Wednesday to take the lead in the two-match series.
Sri Lanka, who made 168-7 after being sent in to bat, hit back to restrict Bangladesh to 166-7 in a thrilling finish at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field in the first Twenty20 internationa. Mithun Ali and Arafat Sunny made their Twenty20 debuts while Farhad Reza returned after two years.
Sri Lanka suffered a blow on the eve of the match when Mahela Jayawardene was ruled out of the two-match Twenty20 series after splitting a webbing in his left hand while taking a high catch during training. The second match will also be played in Chittagong Friday.
Brief scores: Sri Lanka 168-7 in 20 overs; Bangladesh 166-7.
