LankaBangla pre-tax profit records mammoth growth

The half-yearly meeting of LankaBangla Finance Limited was held in the city recently.
LankaBangla Managing Director (MD) Mafizuddin Sarker presided over the programme.
The main agenda of the meeting was to review the performance of the company and the achievement over the last six months.
The LankaBangla MD briefed the overall performance of the company during the period under review. He expressed his satisfaction over the profit before tax which stood at Tk 136.2 million (13.62 crore) compared to Tk 21.9 million during the same period of the previous year registering 520 per cent growth.
For this, he also emphasised the need for continuing efforts to perform even better in the second half of the year.
Chairman of the company Mohammad A Moyeen, SEVP A Malek Shamsher, divisional heads SVP Ahmed Zafrul Hasan, VP AKM Kamruzzaman, VP Quamrul Islam and LankaBangla Securities CEO Nasiruddin Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
Later, the chairman distributed awards among the best performers for the first half of 2007.
Some 125 employees of LankaBangla Finance and its subsidiary LankaBangla Securities participated in the meeting.
