Lankan authority to monitor quality of agri-exports

COLOMBO, Apr 9 (Commodity Online) : Sri Lanka cabinet of ministers has approved the establishment of a National Organic Control Authority to facilitate the export of organic products.
The main objective of the Authority will be to ensure the quality of products of export like spices, herbs, essential oils, desiccated coconut, oil seeds, pulses, cashew, tropical fruits and vegetables, according to asiantribune.com.
Sri Lanka Export Development Act will be amended to facilitate the establishment of new authority.
