Large quantities of contraband items seized

Bangladesh Rifles, in separate drives, seized huge quantities of Indian contrabands, including medicines, clothes and fertiliser from Chuadanga, Naogaon and Dinajpur districts Monday, reports UNB.
In Chuadanga, BDR jawans raided Kashimpur village in Jiban Nagar Upazila and seized Indian medicines, worth about Tk 9.6 million (96 lakh), while being smuggled into the country early Monday.
BDR personnel of 43 Rifles Battalion in Naogaon raided different trains in Santahar railway station and seized 228 kgs of cumin seeds, 5,000 eggs, 53 sarees, 42 kgs of cherry fruit and 500 kgs of potash fertiliser worth about 0.3 million.
