Latif Siddiqui falls sick during hunger strike

TANGAIL, Dec 18 (UNB): Former Awami League (AL) minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui fell sick on Tuesday as he continued his hunger strike demanding the withdrawal of the officer-in-charge of Kalihati Police Station and immediate arrest of those who attacked his motorcade on December 16.
The expelled AL leader who is contesting the election as an independent candidate from Tangail-4 (Kalihati) constituency continued his demonstration in front of the office of the Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Tangail Shahidul Islam for the second consecutive day, braving cold and rain.
District Civil Surgeon Dr Sharif Hossain Khan said Latif's physical condition was deteriorating due to the fast and for not taking any medicine.
A four-member medical team from Tangail General Hospital examined Latif's health condition, said Dr Narayan Chandra Saha.
