Launches, ships to be brought under digital connectivity

SHARIATPUR, July 10 (BSS): Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan has said process is underway to bring all launches and ships of the country under digital connectivity in the domestic and international routes.
"The process will be implemented by the government by installing most modern computer and radar in sea ports and launch terminals of the country," he said.
Besides, he said, all launches should install modern machinery with "Ultra-modern Overloading Signal" to avert launch accidents during the natural calamities.
The minister was exchanging views with the local elite yesterday after offering fateha at the graveyard of headmaster Abdus Samad of Saraf Ali High School, who was killed by terrorists recently.
He ordered the local administration to identify the killers of Abdus Samad and ensure exemplary punishment.
The shipping minister also said the construction of the 'Padma Bridge' would be completed by 2013.
DC of Shariatpur Sanwar Hossain and Superint-endent of Police Shahidur Rahman were present on the occasion.
