Launching ceremony of Entity Wide Audit held

Entity Wide Audit developed by the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General under Financial Management Reforms Programme funded by DFID has been formally inaugurated by Finance Adviser AB Mirza Md. Azizul Islam at the newly constructed office building, Audit Bhaban, in the city Sunday, said a press release.
Secretaries of the government and distinguished personalities as well as the high officials of the audit department were present on the occasion.
As an improvement over traditional audit this will be carried out on the ministries considering each a distinct entity.
In the meantime, four such audits have been conducted on the ministries of Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs.
On the basis of the experience gathered in conducting such audit, an Entity Wide Audit handbook had been prepared, which was unwrapped by the adviser.
Referring to the currently initiated reforms and achievements of his office, Auditor General Asif Ali expressed his pledge to carry on the strategic plan 2007-2012 for further improvement of the quality of audit.
