Law and order situation

Wednesday, 11 July 2007

IN the recent days, law and order situation has deteriorated. There has been an increase of incidents like robbery, snatching etc., in the capital city. A number of robbery cases in broad daylight and snatchings done at places nearby police stations or camps were, thus, reported in the media. Theft of parts of the private cars has also become a common phenomenon in almost all lanes and by-lanes. Obviously, all such incidents heighten the need for stepping up the patrolling activities throughout the city to ensure the security of the city dwellers.
At the same time, it has also become necessary to give a befitting focus on widening the scope for job creation for the poor people, who are finding it difficult to get jobs. Deterioration of the law and order in a situation where the number of the jobless is on the rise may cause wider social troubles in the coming days. Hence, the government does seriously need to consider the situation for its early recovery on a sustained basis.
