Law and order situation was not good last year, says Habibur Rahman

Justice Habibur Rahman, also former caretaker government chief, has said that the law and order situation in the country was not satisfactory during the outgoing calendar year.
Reviewing the year, Mr Rahman said although the government has achieved many successes in various fields including health and education, they failed to manage the state of law and order.
The non-party government chief was addressing an "Award Giving Ceremony" at Dhaka University (DU) organised by Ethics Club Bangladesh Saturday.
Prime Minister's Adviser for International Affairs Prof Dr Gowher Rizvi speaking as special guest emphasised on mass campaign for practising ethics in all sectors of the society to minimise injustice in the society.
Ethics Club has selected 12 teachers from various institutions and awarded them crests for their performance in classroom as well as in personal life. They also selected top 20 students from different academic institutions on the basis of their academic results.
Among others, Prof Serajul Islam Chowdhury, of the English department of DU, Managing Director of MAX Group Engr Ghulam Mohammad Alamgir, Prof Dr Quazi Deen Mohammad of Dhaka Medical College addressed the programme while Founder President of the club ME Chowdhury Shameem chaired the session.
