Law enforcers rescue 2 abducted persons, 5 kidnappers arrested

Law enforcers have rescued two abducted persons within 24 hours of abduction and arrested five alleged kidnappers, report agencies.
BSS from Chittagong adds: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) rescued an abducted youth and arrested three alleged kidnappers from city's Halishahar area on Friday night.
The rescued youth was identified as Yakub Ali, son of Haji Ekhlasur Rahman, hailing from city's Pahartali area. The arrestees were Mohammad Jasim, Mohammad ismail and Mohammad Sayem.
Police also recovered a private car used in the kidnapping that took place on Thursday night.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Halishahar thana Syed Abu Mohammad Shajahan Kabir said the kidnappers abducted Yakub from city's Wapda intersection of city's Halishahar area for collecting money to bribe TK 0.2 million to Chittagong Port for a job in driving post.
Following a compliant from the victim's family, police in a drive on Friday night arrested kidnappers Jasim and Ismail from Anandadhara residential area of Halishahar.
Later, on the basis of the statement of the arrestees police conducted a drive at Chutopool area but sensing the presence of the police, the kidnappers fled away leaving behind Yakub tying his legs and hands with ropes.
Later, Police arrested another kidnapper Sayem Islam from Halishahar SOS Shishupalli area and recovered the private car.
A case was filed in this connection.
UNB from Benapole adds:  Police arrested two kidnappers and rescued a cattle trader from a house at Putkhali here on Friday, eight hours after his abduction.
The arrestees were identified as Sakkarul, 33, son of Khorshed Ali of Goyra village, and Abdul Mannan, 35, son of Nasiruddin of Kagajpukur village in Benapole Port area.
The victim was identified as Sarwar Member, a cattle trader and son of Rokon Sheikh of Faridpur district.
Police said Sarwar used to go to Putkhali cattle market for buying cattle.
On Friday, two people picked up Sarwar at gunpoint while he was going to the cattle market for buying cattle.
Later they demanded Tk 0.5 million as ransom from the family members of Sarwar over phone.
