Law enforcers trying to prove Limon a criminal: family******

Sunday, 24 April 2011

The family of college student Limon Hossain, currently undergoing treatment after losing a leg in a 'RAB firing', has alleged that law enforcers are still trying to prove him to be a miscreant, reports bdnews24.com. At a news briefing at the Dhaka Reporters Unity Saturday morning, they also alleged that RAB, through their local sources, were threatening those backing Limon. Some RAB personnel reportedly shot Limon in his left leg after taking him to a place adjacent to his house at Jamaddarhat of Rajapur Upazila in Jhalakati district on Mar 23, barely two weeks before his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. "Apart from the law enforcers' bid to prove our son (Limon) a criminal, RAB through their local sources are threatening those who came up in aid of him," his father Tofajjal Hossain said. Limon's mother Henuara Begum, who filed an 'attempt to murder' case against six RAB-8 men and six unidentified people in connection with the incident, and brother Hemayet Hossain were also present at the briefing.
