Law Minister’s candidature valid

The election tribunal, headed by a High Court judge, on Thursday rejected the petition challenging the validity of Law Minister Anisul Huq’s participation in the 10th parliamentary election contesting from Brahmanbaria-4 constituency. Justice Soumendra Sarkar delivered the verdict after hearing the petition filed by Khandakar Hasibur Rahman of Jatiya Party (JP) who had claimed that Anisul Huq submitted his nomination paper while serving as the counsel for the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). Advocate M Amin Uddin appeared for the Law Minister, according to UNB.
