Lawmakers greet PM for successful China visit

Lawmakers congratulated Thursday Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina for her successful China visit that has paved the way for undertaking various projects to develop the country's commercial capital Chittagong, reports BSS.
Taking floor on point of order, treasury bench member Dr Hasan Mahmood congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for signing various memorandum of understating with China to implement development projects in Chittagong.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took responsibility of the government with a promise of making Bangladesh a middle income country within 2021 and her pledge is going to be implemented now," he said.
Referring to the long dream of the people of Chittagong for construction of a tunnel beneath the Karnaphuli River, Dr Hasan said the PM signed a memorandum of understanding with China to this effect.
He congratulated PM on behalf of the people of Chittagong for signing the agreement.
Taking the floor, State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for undertaking projects on the second Karnaphuli Bridge, tunnel under the river and other development projects for Chittagong.
