Laxmipur AL leader \\\'beaten by Jubo Dal men\\\' dies in city

A local Awami League leader, injured allegedly by some Jubo Dal men over establishing supremacy at Sondara village in Ramganj Upazila in Laxmipur, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday. The dead is Jahangir Alam, member secretary of Ward No six unit of Awami League under Ichhapur union. Police said local Jubo Dal leader Mahbubur Rahman, its activist Siraj Uddin and Abdur Rahman swooped on Jahangir while gossiping in a tea stall at Sondara following enmity over establishing dominance there. The attackers mercilessly beat the AL leader, leaving him injured seriously. He was admitted to Ramganj Upazila Health Complex from where he was shifted to Noakhali General Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to the DMCH, according toa news agency.
