NILPHAMARI, June 11: Anirban Match Factory has been declared laid off recently due to increase in the price of raw materials.
According to sources, the match factory situated in the bypass roadside area of Nilphamari-Saidpur national highway was established by a local entrepreneur in the year 1995. Nearly 1000 workers were employed there. The factory was running on two shifts in its working days. Due to recent price hike of raw materials production cost of match has increased. But the market price of the products remained static. As a result the company was incurring huge amounts of loss. The employees and their dependants are now passing their days in hardship.
