LBA, Teesta issues to be solved soon: HT Imam

NEW DELHI, Jan 18 (BSS): HT Imam, political advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has expressed confidence that the much-awaited Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) and the Teesta water sharing issues would be solved soon.
"I am confident that the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) would be ratified soon by India and the Teesta water sharing agreement would also be agreed," he said while speaking at the Indian Council of World Affairs at Sapura House here on Saturday.
Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty, the ex-Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh, chaired the function.
Detailing the depths and scope of the ties between Bangladesh and India, HT Imam spoke of the recent power-sharing mechanisms the two countries have agreed to, particularly mentioning the Palatana project in Tripura, the duty-free access granted by India to the textiles sector in Bangladesh, and the sub-regional cooperation between India, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
