The country's first ever 'Leadership Summit-2008' with the participation of 192 top corporate officials and business personalities held in the city Sunday.
The Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) organized the summit.
The summit designed to provide a platform for business leaders and help them formulate strategic priorities, innovative business practices and evolve leadership role to help build world class business in Bangladesh, chief executive officer of the BDF Shariful Islam told the FE.
He said: "We will arrange such leadership summit in Bangladesh every year to help the corporate entities reach their goals."
John Quelch, senior dean of Harvard Business School, Nikos Mourkogiannis, advisor on leadership to Booz Allen Hamilton and Author of 'Purpose', Martin Roll, Global Business and Brand Strategist and author of 'Asian Brand Strategy', and Anjan Raichaudhuri, head of Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, attended the summit as resource persons.
The summit examined how the leaders' job was becoming increasingly challenging, as it required the leader to adapt the organisation to incessant changes and turbulence, while providing consistent leadership and direction, Sharif said.
Whether a leader is managing a large or medium size company, or heading the operation of a business unit, he said, the summit offered inspiration and knowledge to move beyond mediocrity and steer the organisation to become a remarkable business.
