Leaf grades appear much dearer

There was strong buying interests in sale which gathered momentum as the sale progressed and as a result, all leaf grades were much dearer. Blenders/Packeteers continued to operate strongly and there was a little more interest from Pakistan at higher rates. The Loose tea buyers lent fair support. Improved liquoring Dusts were a strong market.
CTC LEAF: 18,969 packages and 375 packages of Old Season again met with a very strong demand which strengthened as the sale progressed.
BROKENS: All good liquoring Brokens were a strong market and mostly advanced by Tk 5.00 to Tk 8.00 and sold between Tk 133 and Tk 137. Plainer varieties were also dearer by Tk 4.00 to Tk 6.00.
FANNINGS: All Fannings were a very strong market particularly in the second half of the sale and these were dearer by Tk 6.00 to Tk 9.00. Good liquoring neat varieties sold between Tk 134 and Tk 137. Medium and plainer types were dearer by Tk 5.00 to Tk 7.00.
CTC DUST: 2,829 packages on offer met with a strong demand. Good liquoring RDs and Dusts continued to be a strong feature and were mostly dearer by Tk 2.00 to Tk 4.00 per kg. Plainer varieties, however, eased slightly. CDs were also a good market but the plainer types were generally easier. Blenders continued to lend useful support whilst Loose tea buyers were a little less active than last week.
