Enjoying unbridled success since its very first session in 2016, Bangladesh University of Professionals Global Affairs Council (BUPGAC) is back once again to awestruck the MUN community with its third plenary. In just two years, BUP Model United Nations Conference (BUPMUN) has marked its presence in the MUN fraternity and has been praised for its strong academics and heartwarming hospitality. The club invites delegates and executive members from all over the country and abroad to participate in the conference.
This year too BUPGAC is ready with its organising body to provide the best MUN experience by breaking the boundaries of expectations in BUPMUN 2018. The three-day conference will be held from September 27 to 29 with more than 500 fresh and experienced MUNers and MUN enthusiasts from all over the world. This year, breaking the records of the previous years, delegates will be divided into 13 crucial UN committees.
Always dealing with the most pressing issues in international affairs, MUN conference centres around a theme that is also significant in understanding the goal the conference is trying to achieve. BUPMUN 2018 will address one very concerning global issue as its theme. This year, the conference theme is 'Inclusive strategy to promote shared prosperity by strengthening security and ensuring world peace'. The theme will work as the keystone of the agendas of all 13 committees. Furthermore, each committee will bring light upon various international crises centring on the theme. The delegates, under the supervision of the executive board members, will also come up with possible solutions in the simulation of the United Nations Conference.
There can be no dispute over the fact that global prosperity and peace is the ultimate goal that we all would like to achieve. However, peace and order come at a price of comprehensive effort and strategy. Issues such as border killing and violation of civil rights in war zones are hazardous when it comes to creating a better world. Unless and until the citizens of the world incorporate proper negotiation and diplomacy among themselves, world peace and prosperity will only be a myth. To create world peace, all countries must formulate ways to empower and embrace greater safety and security across all nations.
This year, BUPMUN 2018 has set its foot forward to discuss all that and seeks to emphasise the importance of diplomacy, especially during these turbulent times. The club promises to provide the perfect platform for the delegates to discuss debate and practice the art of diplomacy through BUP Model United Nations Conference 2018, thus playing a part as the global citizens of the world.
Abidur Rahman, vice-president of BUPGAC, said, "This year we are focusing on 'promoting shared prosperity by ensuring peace'. The goal is to allow the delegates a platform where they can discuss the core issue. BUPGAC has always tried to provide an insightful and learning MUN experience to the delegates and the objective has been to encourage today's youths to deal with both national and global issues."
Throughout the three-day conference, BUPGAC will try to ensure that the participants can take home with them the memory of one of the best MUN experiences in their life. In addition, they also want the members to develop leadership skills through cultivating fairness and diplomacy.
