Leather, footwear expo begins today

A three-day leather and footwear exhibition titled 'Bangladesh Leather & Footwear Expo', arranged by Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) in cooperation with Limra Trade Fairs & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd begins at International Convention City Bashundhara, Baridhara in the city today (Thursday).
More than 200 exhibitors from 13 countries will participate in the expo.
There will be 334 stalls and two international seminars will take place during the fair, 5th of its kind.
Md. Abdul Halim, Secretary, Ministry of Industries will be the chief guest in the opening session of the exhibition.
Md. Shaheen Ahmed, Chairman of BTA and Tariqul Islam Khan, President of Leather Engineers and Technologists Society, Bangladesh (LETSB) will be the special guests.
Helal Uddin Ahmed, director of RMG and Textile Industry Skills Council, Bangladesh, Haji Md. Shaheen Khan, President of Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarak Samity (BPPS) and Engineer Mohammad Nazrul Islam Khan, director of Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogra will also attend.
Latest RMG and textile-related innovations, non-woven technological advancements, accessory making machinery, fire safety and security equipments will be displayed during the fair.
Industry insiders said the fair will help the Bangladesh's leather and footwear industry get international exposure and widen the export market for the country.
