The exhibition marks over a decade of Leathertech Bangladesh, which was launched eleven years ago as a technology platform designed to connect end-users with innovations in footwear, travel goods, and allied product manufacturing.
Over the years, the event has evolved into the leading networking platform for Bangladesh's leather, footwear, and travel goods sectors.
The leather and footwear industry is Bangladesh's second-largest export sector after ready-made garments. The sector contributes approximately 3 per cent to the global leather goods market and accounts for nearly 10 per cent of global leather demand. It has been designated a priority sector for export diversification under the Industry Policy 2022, positioning Bangladesh as a competitive global sourcing hub. The sector benefits from a cost-effective workforce, abundant raw materials, and targeted policy incentives.
Bangladesh's leather and footwear exports have shown strong growth, with the sector posting a 9.7 per cent year-on-year increase in October of FY25-26, reaching US$591.5 million, compared to US$539.4 million during the same period last year, according to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
Overall, the leather and leather products segments remain the key growth engines, while footwear performance shows early signs of stabilisation after months of fluctuation. Bangladesh's export base continues to diversify -- strengthening its position as a resilient and evolving global sourcing hub.
The tradeshow will remain open from 11:00am to 7:00pm daily. Entry is free for to business visitors.
