Lebanese soldier killed in refugee camp

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Jun 19 (AP): A Lebanese soldier was killed Tuesday in clashes with al-Qaida-inspired militants in a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon, a senior military official said.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to make statements to media, said the soldier was killed in battles with gunmen of the Fatah Islam group barricaded inside the Nahr el-Bared camp on the outskirts of the northern port city of Tripoli.
