LEIC holds third steering committee meet

Local Enterprise Investment Centre (LEIC), a private sector development project managed by IDLC Finance Limited (IDLC) with contribution from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), held its Third Steering Committee meeting in the city recently.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of the IDLC Anis A Khan presided over the meeting, said a press release.
Among others, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Md Murshid Kuli Khan, Director of the Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Dr. M Kamal Uddin, President of the Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Rokia A Rahman, Deputy General Manager of the SouthAsia Enterprise Development Facility (SEDF) Deepak Adhikary, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Hossain Khaled and Senior Development Adviser of the Canadian High Commission Omar Farooq Khan were present at the meeting.
Centre Director of the LEIC Israt Ara Younus informed the members of the centre's activities in the first half of 2007 towards achievement of its objectives.
The objective of the centre is to facilitate long term partnerships between local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and foreign or local large companies.
