LGED holds PEDP-II review meeting

Secretary for the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education AKM Abdul Awal Majumdar said the engineers of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) should show their efficiency in their works at every stage of development programmes by ensuring skill, transparency and accountability, said a press release.
"They will have to complete the development works maintaining quality and time-frame. Excellence has no limits and they would have to overcome hindrances in their professional works", he added.
Mr Majumdar was speaking at the inaugural session of a four-day review meeting on 'Primary Education Development Programme-11 (PEDP-11)' as chief guest at the LGED head office in the city Friday.
The main objective of the meeting is to assess the progress, implementation of works, supervision, monitoring and coordination of the programme.
The Department of Primary Education under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has undertaken the project, being implemented by LGED.
The secretary said, "Serving the people at the grassroots level is the prime objective of 'Digital Bangladesh' philosophy".
LGED Chief Engr Md Wahidur Rahman presided over the meeting, while Joint Secretary (Development) of Local Government Division Md Abdul Malek and LGED Superintending Engr (Incharge) Molla Azizul Hoque were also present.
Mr Malek said, "Development works worth of Tk 70 billion are being implemented under PEDP-II. The LGED engineers are sincere to accomplish their tasks with the commitments of the government."
