Library dev meet held in Natore

NATORE, Mar 14: A discussion meeting on district level library development and reader increase at Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh, Natore district office conference room was held on March 13. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Director Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh, Natore district office. Eminent educationist and Principal (Retd) of Rani Bhawani govt. college, Natore, and editor, weekly Natore Barta Alhaj Professor A K M Nazrul Islam was present as chief guest while Librarian of Nawab Siraj-ud-doula govt. college Natore Md. Ali Haider was present on the occasion. Accountant of the foundation and best reader of Sinra Upazila library Mehedi Hasan spoke in meeting. Librarians and readers of six upazila libraries in Natore district attended the meeting. Fake jute seeds recovered Another report adds: Acting on secret information Natore DB police recovered 846 kg low quality seeds of jute in Indian fake packets from a seeds shop at Madrasa intersection under Natore pourasava of the district on Saturday. Police arrested Belal Hossain with 600 kg jute seeds. Later police recovered 246 kg jute seeds with fake packets and packet manufacturing instruments from Singardah under Natore Sadar Upazila. According to agriculture department sources, the low quality seeds' value is about Tk 0.2 million.
