Library on nature conservation launched

Noazesh Knowledge Centre, an exclusive library on nature conservation, was launched in the city Saturday, reports UNB. Adviser and Special Representative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Prof Gowher Rizvi inaugurated the knowledge centre named after late Dr Noazesh Ahmed, eminent nature photographer and founding vice-chairman of Wildlife Trust of Bangladesh (WTB). Danish Ambassador in Bangladesh Svend Olling, Desh TV Managing Director Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, WTB and ZSL programme manager Christina Greenwood and Conservator of Forest Tapan Kumar Dey addressed the inaugural function chaired by WTB Chairman Enayetullah Khan. WTB Chief Executive Prof Anwarul Islam gave the welcome address at the function. Wildlife Trust of Bangladesh (WTB) and Zoological Society of London (ZSL) together set up the centre with a view to creating a generation of young and knowledgeable citizens in the field of biodiversity conservation. Prof Rizvi said: "The centre has focused a very noble issue. This knowledge centre is a natural partnership."
