The Libya returnees have hailed the government's decision to send the repatriated workers back to Libya in phases soon after democratic government assumes power. Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Eng Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain told BSS that the government would take steps to send back the repatriated workers to the foreign companies where they were employed in Libya with the installation of new government in Tripoli. In the changed political situation, Engr Mosharraf said, the new Libyan government is likely to formulate a broad-based development plan and Bangladesh will be able to participate in it intensely in a democratic setup. Selim, a repatriated worker who is working hard to start a business, said the news of sending Libya returnees gave him a ray of hope to lead a better livelihood with his family members.
