Sunday, 23 November 2008

WASHINGTON, Nov 22 (Xinhua): Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, son of Libya's leader Moammar Gadhafi, has said that Libya wants to invest in the United States, the Associated Press reported yesterday.
In an exclusive interview with the news agency, Seif said that Libya wants to open a new chapter in relations with the United States by investing some of its 100-billion-dollar sovereign wealth fund in US companies and sending thousands of students to study in America.
When asked why Libya wants to invest in the United States, Seif said: "This is a great country with the biggest economy in the world, with a great opportunity."
Seif, who doesn't have any official position except head of the Gadhafi Foundation, is here "on a private visit," according to the State Department.
