Monday, 5 May 2014

NARAYANGANJ: The district administration has taken away the licences of 11 firearms of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) councillor Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the seven-murder case.
Deputy Commissioner of the district Anisur Rahman Miah cancelled the licences Monday, asking the police to immediately seize the firearms.
Sources said Nur Hossain had obtained licences for the firearms in his names, but his associates had been using those, according to a news agency.
Meanwhile, plainclothes police have arrested another killer suspect of the abduction and murder of NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others.
A source at the Detective Branch of police said a DB team arrested Ratan tracking his mobile phone as he had been using the mobile phone set of slain lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker.
