Life insurance business rapidly expanding in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Oct 25: Largely untapped life insurance market is rapidly expanding in the northern region including Nilphamari district and life insurance is becoming a popular financial product day by day, with household earnings rising in the growing economy.
Life insurance premium collection of different life insurance companies working in different districts of the Northern region is also increasing. There are currently around ten public and private insurance companies in the insurance market.
Those working in Nilphamari district are Sun Life Insurance Co Ltd, National Life Insurance Co Ltd, Popular Life Insurance Co Ltd, Delta Life Insurance Co Ltd, Sandhani Life insurance Co Ltd, Meghna Life Insurance Co Ltd and so on.
Sources said in 2006 Sun Life Insurance Co Ltd collected taka 7.5 million as premium in Nilphamari district and in 2007 they expect to collect taka 12 million.
