Lifer SP gets HC bail in bribery case

The High Court granted bail to former senior police official who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a lower court in a bribery case filed in 2003.
An HC bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the order following a bail petition Wednesday.
Sentencing to life imprisonment in the case, a Dhaka court on December 19 last year also fined Mostafa Kamal, former Railway police super of Syedpur and former SP of Habiganj district, Tk 3 million, in default, to suffer one year more in prison, according to a news agency.
