Saturday, 28 June 2014

CHITTAGONG, June 27 (BSS): A steel coils-laden lighterage ship sank in the outer anchorage of the Chittagong Port Friday morning. The incident took place at around 8 am somewhere between Alpha and Bravo anchorages of the outer anchorage when it was on its way to Narayanganj from the port, said Deputy Conservator of Chittagong Port Nazmul Alam. He said 'MV Sundarban-1' was carrying 1.5 tonnes of steel coils to Dhaka and the vessel started to lean to one side as the goods in it displaced following a big wave that hit the vessel.    — BSS
