Lightning kills 1 in Manikganj

A farmer has been killed by lightning in Manikganj Sadar Upazila. The deceased was identified as Abdul Halim, 45, son of Hazrat Ali. He hailed from Barahirchar village under Krishnapur Union of the upazila. His family sources said thunderbolt struck him when he was working in the field near his house at about 3.00pm on Saturday. Family members and locals rescued and whicked him off to a hospital where the doctor declared him dead in the evening, according to a news agency.
