Lightning kills 2 in 2 dists

Two people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in Sunamganj and Moulvibazar on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Abdus Sobhan, 70, a resident of Majumdarichar village of Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district, and Rashed Ahmed, 13, son of Sayed Miah, a resident of Sarampur village of Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district. Locals said lightning struck Abdus Salam at Majumdarichar village when he was going to field with his cattle at about 9:00 am amid rain, leaving him dead on the spot. On the other hand, Rashed was struck by lightning while he was returning home from a field at Sarampur village of Rajnagar at about 9:30 am. Critically injured, Rashed was rushed to Rajnagar Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared him dead, according to UNB.
