Lightning kills farmer in Chuadanga

A farmer was killed and three other people were injured in separate incidents of lightning strike in Chuadanga district on Saturday. Lightning struck Mandar Ali and his two cows when he went to the courtyard of his house to take the cows to the cowshed amid storm at Nastipur village in Damurhuda upazila at 7am today, leaving Mandar and his cows dead on the spot. Meanwhile, day labourer Anusuddin, 42, was injured when a thunderbolt hit him at Akandabaria village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila in the morning. Besides, Nafiza Khatun, daughter of Kamruzzaman of Shyempur village and Majnu Miah, of Kurulgachhi village of Damurhuda sustained injuries as lightning struck them in the morning. The injured were admitted to Sadar hospital, according to UNB.
