Lightning kills Krishak League leader

A local leader of Krishak League was killed as lightning strike hit him at Shapla Bonde at Sadar upazila in Kishoreganj on Thursday morning. The dead is Motiur Rahman, 70, president of Itna upazila unit of Krishak League, associate body of Awami League for farmers, and a resident of Chipahati village in the same upazila. Locals said Motiur was hit by a streak of lightning while visiting a paddy field in the area at about 8:30 am and died on the spot, according to UNB.
