Lightning strike kills seven

Thunderbolts killed seven people, injuring 30 others in stormy weather at different upazilas of Naogaon district on Friday. In Mohadebpur upazila, six people, including a paddy trader, four farmers and a van-cart puller were killed and 30 others injured at Swaraswatipur Paddy Market, one of the biggest paddy markets of the district, in the morning. Witnesses said five people were killed on the spot while one injured farmer succumbed to his injuries at Mohadebpur Upazila Health Complex (MUHC). In another incident of lightning, a housewife was killed in village Patharghata under Porsha upazila in the district at 8 am amid similar inclement weather. However, her identity could not be known immediately. In Porsha upazila, thunderbolt killed a housewife at Patharghata village at 8:00am.
