Lightning strike kills three in Sylhet

SYLHET, Apr 09 (UNB): A lightning strike killed three farmers at Dhupri Haor in Fenchuganj upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased are - Jitu Mia, son of Tajmul Ali of Fenchuganj upazila; Rajon Mia, son of Moikandar Ali, and Anwar Hossain of Gopalganj upazila.
The lightning struck around 11.00am when the farmers were working at a field, killing them on the spot, said Abul Bashar Mohammad Badruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj Police Station.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ayesha Haque provided Tk 10,000 to Jitu's family.
