Lightning strikes kill 04 in Naogaon, Joypurhat districts

At least four people, including a child, were killed in separate lightning strikes in Naogaon and Joypurhat districts on Sunday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Chotu, 50, of Sapahar upazila, Abbas Ali, 45, of Porsha upazila, Nadri Alam, 12, of Mohadevpur upazila in Naogaon and Hafizul Islam of Khetlal upazila in Joypurhat.
In Naogaon, Chotu died when a thunderbolt hit him while he was working in a paddy field at Kalmudanga of Spahar upazila in the afternoon, said officer-in-charge of Sapahar Police Station Shamsul Alam.
Officer-in-charge of Porsha Police Station Shahinur Rahman said Abbas was killed in a lightning strike while he was going to a field near his house at Nashingahar village of the upazila.
A thunderbolt struck Nadri when he was playing at the courtyard of his house at Bakhrabad village in the upazila, leaving him dead on the sport.
In Joypurhat, a thunderbolt hit Hafizul while he was standing beside a paddy field around 2.00 pm at Mundail village in Khetlal upazila.
