List of CIPs finalized

The government has finalized a list of 48 eminent businessmen as Commercially Important Persons (CIPs) for the next one year, sources in the Cabinet Division said.
Of the total, 30 businessmen have been selected as CIP (Trade), while the remaining 18 as CIP (Export).
A high-profile inter-ministerial meeting, held recently at the conference room of the Cabinet Division, has finalized the names of CIPs. The meeting was chaired by Cabinet Secretary, also President, CIP Selection Committee, M Abdul Aziz.
The list has already been sent to the Prime Minister's Office for approval, it is learnt.
The list of CIP (export) has been finalized on the basis of export performance in 2007-2008 fiscal year, sources in the Ministry of Commerce said.
According to the approved list of CIP (Export), two top exporters have been selected from the category of ready-made garment. They are-Anisur Rahman Sinha of Opex Industries ltd, Dhaka and Atiqul Islam of Islam Dresses Ltd, Dhaka.
Anjan Chowdhury of Square Fashions Ltd, Dhaka, Gawher Shioraj Jamil of Four H Fashions ltd, Chittagong and Alhaj Khalilur Rahman of KDS Group, Chittagong, have been nominated from the category of knit garment.
Mohammed Shahab Uddin of Green Trade House, Dhaka, has been selected from the category of agriculture product, while Major General (retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury of Agricultural Marketing Company Ltd, Dhaka, selected for CIP (export) from the category of Agro-processing sector, according to the list.
The Pharmaceutical and Ceramic sectors each got one CIP (export). They are-Samson H Chowdhury of Square Pharmaceuticals ltd, Dhaka and Firoz Mahmud of Artisan Ceramics Ltd, Dhaka.
Two exporters have been selected from the category of Handicrafts items. They are-Abu Alam Chowdhury of Conexpo, Dhaka and Golam Ehsan of Sun Trade Ld, Dhaka.
Again two exporters have been selected from the category of Jute Goods. They are-Nazmul Hoq of Janata Jute Mills Ltd, Dhaka, and Sheikh Nasir Uddin of Akiz Jute Mills Ltd, Dhaka.
Two exporters have been selected from the category of raw Jute category. Their names, however, could not be confirmed.
Mohammed Sayful Islam of Picard Bangladesh Ltd, Dhaka and MD Anwarul Hoq of M/S Anwarul Hoq, Jaipurhat have been selected from the categories of leather goods items and miscellaneous respectively.
The list of CIP (trade) containing 30 chambers and association leaders has been finalized as per the CIP (export) regulation, 2006.

Rafiqul Islam, FCA of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Annisul Huq of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Md Abdul Hai Sarker of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association, Kamran Tanveer Rahman of Bangladesh Oushad Shilpa Samity, Kazi Belayet Hossain of Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association, A. K. M. Nurul Fazal Bulbul of Bangladesh Association of Banks and Md Fazlul Hoq of Bangladesh Knitwear and Exporters Association.
Md Rajjab Sharif of Bangladesh Chamber of Industry, Alhajj Md Bazlur Rahman of Narayangong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Md Kohinur Islam of Munshigong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Md Shamsul Islam of Jessore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bijoy Kumer Kejriwal of Khustia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Md Shirazul Hoq of Lalmonirhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alhaj Shamsul Hoq of Naogaon Chamber of Commerce and industry and Mahbub Islam Runu of Manikgonj Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Besides, nine businessmen have been selected as CIP(trade) from the category of Association.
They are-Abu Alam Chowdhury of Bangladesh Crafts and Giftwear Exporters Association, Obaidur Rahman of Bangladesh Aluminium Manufacturers Association, Safkat Haider of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services, Md Fakhrul Islam Shova of Bangladesh Dress Makers Association, Md Jashim Uddin of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Anwar Hossain of Bangladesh Jewelary Manufacturers and Exporters Association, MA Rouf Chowdhury of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, Dilder Ahmed (Salim) of Bangladesh Jewlers Association and Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed of FBCCI.
According to the CIP (export) regulations-2006, CIPs are entitled to use VIP lounge at airports and get entry pass for Secretariat and invitation to citizens' receptions.
They also get priority in the reservation in all government transportation including airlines and railway as well as foreign ministry's recommendations for foreign visa.
The privileges are offered for one calendar year or until the announcement of next CIP list, sources in the commerce ministry said.
