Listed criminal found dead in city

Police recovered the body of a ‘listed criminal’, who was reportedly abducted in the city four days ago, from a drain near Kalshi New Road in Pallabi area of Dhaka city on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Momin Boksha, 40, son of late Samad Boksha, a resident of block-D of Mirpur section-12. Locals spotted his body in a drain at the north side of the Baitul Jannat Mosque near the road around 5:15am and informed Police. On information police recovered the body. Monwar Hossain Sumon, nephew of Momin said he was abducted along with his driver from Taj Mahal Road of Mohammadpur area in the city while he was returning from his lawyer’s house on July 8. Later, the abductors released the driver. Police arrested the driver and remanded him for interrogation. Dadon Fakir, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station, said Momin was a listed criminal and accused in 25/30 cases, according to a news agency.
