Listed terror killed in gun battle with jt forces in city

A listed terror suspect was killed in an encounter with RAB-led joint forces at Gandaria under the city's Sutrapur Police Station early Thursday, officials said, reports UNB.
The dead was identified as Mohammad Nurul Haque alias Kala Bhai (38), a close associate of deceased Firoz Alam Minto, who was also killed earlier in an encounter with RAB, an official of the elite force, said adding, Kala Bhai was wanted in a number of criminal cases, including 11 murders.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-10 with the help of police raided 174, Distillery Road to arrest terrorists and recover firearms at about 3:00am.
Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the terrorists opened fire on joint forces triggering a 20-minute gun-battle.
Kala Bhai was caught in the line of fire while trying to leave the scene and died instantly, the official said.
Later, the joint forces also recovered one shutter-gun, one revolver and one round of bullet from the spot.
The body was sent to the Mitford Hospital for autopsy.
