LK Siddiqui\\\'s body to be brought home today

The body of BNP leader and former water resource minister LK Siddiqui will be brought home from Singapore this (Saturday) evening. LK Siddiqui, former Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament), passed away at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore around 11:00am Bangladesh time on Friday at the age of 75. Siddiqui, the BNP’s vice-chairman, was admitted to the United Hospital in Dhaka with lung problems. He was taken to Singapore on Wednesday for better treatment. Shawkat Hossain, the then APS to LK Siddiqui while a minister, said his body will be brought home on Saturday evening and he will be buried at his family graveyard in Sitakunda Upazila in Chittagong after Asr prayers on Sunday following several namaz-e-janazas in the capital and the prot city. Siddiqui was elected MP from Sitakunda constituency thrice – 1979, 1991 and 2001, according to a news agency.
