Local AL leader, HBCOP president robbed of in Singra

NATORE, Dec 13 (UNB): A local Awami League leader and the district unit president of Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad (HBCOP) were injured and mugged by robbers on Natore-Bogra-Rajshahi highway at Chalanbil in Singra upazila early Tuesday.
Locals said the upazila unit AL president Mojibor Rahman Chand and local HBCOP chief Sushanto Ghosh were going to Natore town from Signra by a motorcycle at midnight Monday.
A few minutes later they stopped their bike seeing logs placed diagonally over Ninguin Bridge on the highway.
All on a sudden a gang of highway robbers, equipped with lethal weapons, dragged them and beat them, leaving them injured.
The bandits then tied their hands and legs with ropes and snatched two mobile phone sets, Tk 7,600 and the bike and decamped with booties early Tuesday.
